Paleo diet or Paleolithic diet is that diet whose primary focus is on foods presumed to be the foods of the early man, the Paleolithic era man. This Paleo era dates as far back as 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago. This diet revolves around meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits. It is designed to ensure that you avoid processed foods and cereals on your dinner table!
This diet encourages the return to the Paleolithic type of foods as a way of avoiding or rather minimizing health problems. These health problems include diabetes, obesity and heart diseases.
Why Is It Popular
Paleo diet is not just a fad; it is a widespread eating habit that has been embraced by many people.
It is famous for those who:

It is based on the ‘fact’ that the human body, genetically speaking, has not evolved enough to match the modern processed foods that emerged from farming techniques. This idea is commonly referred to as the discordance hypothesis.
Due to farming, other staples such as dairy, legumes and grains were introduced into the human diet. According to this hypothesis, this late introduction of latter foods outpaced the body’s adaption pace, thus causing a mismatch. This mismatch is seen as the contributing risk factor for diseases such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes. Hence the need to go back to the basics, the paleo diet!

The Dietary Questions

It is also expensive acquiring these paleo foods because legumes, dairy products and grains are readily available than the recommended paleo foods.
Paleo diet has many health benefits such as weight loss or maintaining your weight. However, many clinical questions cast the whole program into doubt.
